In 1991, Barry Barr was captivated by the beauty of the Alaskan coast while running his fishing boat. Inspired by a gust of wind that blew his hat into the sea, he set out to create a hat that would never fall off. Fast forward nearly three decades later, Barry’s vision still thrives. Handcrafted and hand-sewn in Seattle by the same family, this hat ensures longevity and quality.
Each hat is meticulously crafted using the finest materials. The core construction features a beefy nylon tubular webbing with a 4,000lb breaking point, a KAVU d-ring adjustment, and five 43-stitch bar tacks. The heat-laminated underbill and a four-panel design are secured with 1" grosgrain-covered internal seams, ensuring durability and comfort for years.
This year, we’ve elevated the hat’s sustainability with 100% certified organic cotton. This eco-friendly choice benefits outdoor enthusiasts, providing a durable and soft fabric that performs well in all conditions. The organic cotton ensures minimal environmental impact while offering the same robustness and comfort.
Available in S, M, and L sizes, the ALPHA Easy fit size offers head circumferences of S (22.5”-24”), M (23.5”-25”), and L (24.5”-26”). The low-profile, 3.5" crown height, combined with a slight curved bill and black underbill, offers a classic look suitable for all occasions. The patterned nylon tubular webbing and KAVU adjustment make it easy to find the perfect fit for any head size.
Designed for ruggedness and reliability, this hat is the perfect choice for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. With a 4-panel design, 1" grosgrain-covered internal seams, and a heat-laminated underbill, it provides excellent protection against wear and tear. The beefy nylon tubular webbing with a 4,000lb breaking point and five 43-stitch bar tacks ensure that the hat stays securely in place, even in harsh conditions.
